The Roommate

College student Sara finds that her new roommate Rebecca has an obsession with her, which quickly turns violent. I walked into this never hearing about it before and not knowing what it was. At first I thought it was like single white female. Then as the film went on I was surprised, little gore, little cussing, more like a good suspense. The story telling was good, no matter what some might say, I thought it was a good story. This girl seemed to never really go further than the edge, making threats, hurting people, but never to the point of murder. That is what I saw and to me that build up is what is lacking in movies today. They want to show everything from the past to the present and show blood and gore and sex. It was refreshing to see an old style movie with new actors. By the end of the movie it was sit on the edge of my seat and yell at the screen, "Look out behind you" I have not yelled at the movie screen in a long time. Thats what movies are for. I give this film two thumbs up and rate it an 8 out of 10. I would like to see more films like this. I miss old Hollywood.

When you leave the Theatre you know that David Slade is a director who really did understand the book. Thank you David for making this Twilight experience exceptional. I don\'t care what critics say - the acting was better than great. Kristen does an amazing job when she portrays Bella\'s confusion as she is second-guessing her choice to become a vampire. It is brilliant how Kristen manages to communicate the confusion through great acting – without countless monologues or dialogues to explain her emotions. That\'s what I call acting! Taylor Lautner was also great. His character could easily have been tiresome after New Moon but he managed to keep Jacob interesting. Last but not least – Robert. There aren\'t enough words to explain how perfect his portrayal of Edward in this movie is. He brings the character to life in such an astonishing fashion that he is worthy of all praise. Thank you Robert for that breathtaking experience! But it wasn\'t only the main characters that made this movie great – everyone in the cast should get their fare share of admiration. The Cullens where fantastic – I loved the fact that they where so three-dimensional. The acting and storyline made you fall in love with the whole Cullen clan - just as one does when reading the books. Eclipse is a stunning cinematic experience and a Hollywood Epic!$

A motto director Joe Carnahan has taken to heart in making The A-Team. A smart move, as complete and uncompromising exaggeration appears to be exactly what the format asked for. Especially since the translation of TV shows to the big screen has proved to be no easy task. Just look at Miami Vice, which pretty much bombed despite the presence of Michael Mann, the director/producer who created the original series. Or the near criminal trashing überhobbyist MacGuyver recently received by the hands of questionable farce MacGruber. In a world so significantly different from the mid-eighties, the severely underpaid and hopelessly dated missions of the four fugitives could have very much been out of place as well. The reincarnation by the hands of Carnahan however, avoids many of the pitfalls that the outdated format has to offer. For one, the director has brought the well known premise of the series to the present. Vietnam has been replaced by Iraq and the bad attitude of Bosco Baracus is not the only thing that makes the foursome dangerous: the happy-go-lucky stance of a team that rarely asked for enemy casualties has been replaced by an attitude that better suits a group of elite soldiers. What is especially striking is how well the cast handle their roles, and how much fun they have doing so. Understandable, since the characters in Carnahans installment have been blown up as well. Hannibal in the hands of Liam Neeson, although not as charismatic as George Peppard, is equally complacently on the jazz whenever a dangerous situation can be even remotely relished. Templeton \$

First of all when I read some of the reviews about this movie all my excitement was drained but I went to see it anyway. What do you now, the movie was great. It was fun, had a lot of action in it, the CGI was nice (excecpt few scenes in the beginning). I thought acting was nice Gyllenhaal (prince) and Arterton (Princess) did a good job in my opinion. As a fun of the game; the script wasn\'t entirely accurate just like most of the movies based on games but it didn\'t stray too far either. OK it was not the perfect movie but it was something that I would go and watch its sequel. Overall I enjoyed myself and I believe if you go open minded you will enjoy yourself too.$

Alternate universe stories have been done to death, but the appealing nature of so many of the characters makes this one work, as well as the fact that the filmmakers are clearly trying to wrap up the story (which includes a small bit of retconning at the beginning, but it pays off toward the end). The 3D occasionally falls into the trap of throwing things towards the audience, but the characters and sets are so beautifully animated in all dimensions (the textures of Shrek and Donkey, particularly, have improved even on the wonder that was Kung Fu Panda) that the 3D actually adds to the enjoyment. The first two remain the crown jewels of the franchise, but this is a worthy addition and a suitable end to the... well, saga is too strong a word, so storyline will have to do. And the bonus? Eddie Murphy gets to sing SEVERAL songs WITHIN the movie!$
