After arriving in San Francisco, she arrives at the apartment of her sister Ginger (Sally Hawkins). Ginger is divorced from her first husband Augie (Andrew Dice Clay), who never liked Jasmine. The film contains a couple of flashbacks that involve Jasmine, Hal, Ginger, and Augie, and how it relates to what is currently happening.
