The Master

"The Master" tells the story of a Naval veteran, returning from WWII, named Freddie Quell (Phoenix) who seems to have some form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. After an attempt to go find some kind of normality in his life as a civilian, he begins to grow more and more aware of how disengaged he has become. One night, he stumbles upon a party on board a ship and becomes enraptured with an eccentrically charismatic man everyone on board refers to as The Master (Hoffman). It comes to light that The Master is the leader of a newly formed organization, whose objective is to "help" people discover a meaning to their lives, by having them engage in odd, repetitive and seemingly meaningless exercises. The Master soon becomes rather intrigued by Freddie's submissive personality and takes him as his right-hand-man.

Growing up with spider man, I always knew what he was like, and this new film has a closer take to the comics. The romance was great as well, along with the action. The lizard was a great character as well. The effects were really well done. The 3d was actually worth it, and was of course well done. Emma stone portrayed the young miss Stacy well enough to make the viewers believe as if she came right out of the comics. This film was all the way amazing, and is a definite see. This shouldn\'t be compared to Avengers, or Dark Knight Rises, as its a film on its own. Some scenes made me feel as if I was actually spider man. The film is great for everyone of all ages. kids, teens, and adults.$

The story is original and entertaining and has some contemporary relevance too. If you fancy an entertaining film and a bit of escapism then this is definitely one to watch. Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt have great on-screen chemistry and her relationship with her army boy is also very credible. Nice to see such a good looking actor who can actually act too! Script on the whole very sharp, especially in the UK section. A must see movie.$
