Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon: Sailor Mars has a nightmare where the other Soldiers, and the world, are destroyed. The only hope is a mysterious being whom she thinks is the Messiah. Rei wakes up studying with the other girls for their high school entrance exams. Though the others worry because they can tell Rei is upset, she insists nothing's worng. Meanwhile, in a dark, dusky laboritory, a mysterious professor and his assistant, Kaolinite, have dark plans. The professor explains that he needs the Sacred Cup. The way to find the Sacred Cup is to bring together the three Talismans found in the pure hearts of people. He develops Daimon which can draw out these pure hearts, and sends Kaolinite and a Daimon after their first target. The Daimon egg embeds itself in a tree at the Hikawa Shrine, and Kaolinite explains that when the Daimon senses a person with a pure heart, it will attack and get that pure heart. Rei arrives back at the temple and begins praying at the tree. The tree then becomes a monster and attacks Rei. She attempts to transform but it is too powerful and stops her. Ami, Minako, and Makoto arrive, but they, too, are incapacitated before they can transform. Finally Usagi arrives and she becomes Sailor Moon. She fights the moster, but starts to lose. Tuxedo Kamen arrives and gives Sailor Moon a chance to attack. Sailor Moon tries her Moon Princess Halation, but the Daimon just blocks the attack. It then charges Sailor Moon and chomps on her broach. The Silver Crystal seems to almost cry and then grows darks. Sailor Moon transforms back into Usagi and Tuxedo Kamen is also tied up like the others. The Daimon finally extracts Rei's pure heart, which appears in the form of a glowing crystal. The monster is about to take the pure heart, but two mysterious energy blasts hit the monster and it turns back into a tree. The Daimon egg pops out and shatters. The pure heart flies up toward two shadowed figures who look like Sailor Soldiers. They examine the crystal, and send it back, saying it isn't a Talisman. The pure heart goes back into Rei and she soon regains consciousness. During the celebration, Luna and Artemis spot the two shadowed figures as the figures run off. Back in the lab, the professor states that they will try again until they find the Talismans. Back at the temple, Usagi says that another war is beginning.
