Ex-Driver Season 1 Episode 6

Ex-Driver: The final episode of the series The Last Mile picks off right where Crossroads ended… with a flash back of what had previously happened. This episode starts at the éX-Driver command center, where Mr. Munakata, Nina and the other guy (the éX-D official site calls him the operator) are tracking the runaway gasoline cars on their computers, hoping that when they run out of gas they'll have to leave the city and things can get back to normal, turns out they have a refueling truck so there still a problem. Lorna, Lisa and Souichi walk in… although Lisa was supposed to stay at the hospital for more tests… she insists she's fine. They receive a message from Toudou who is bragging about what they had done. There's a flashback showing the previous éX-Driver team (as hinted at in the éX-Rider episode) with Nina, Rei and Toudou. Showing that Toudou and Mr. Munakata had a disagreement from way back. The éX-Driver's feel helpless since they have no cars to drive so they can't stop the runaways. Mr. Ogawa returns with news… they completed the parts for the cars and they can start fixing them up. He asks Souichi to help with the work and Lorna and Lisa join in too. While working on the cars Lisa and Souichi seem to connect with each other. Mr. Munakata realizes that it's still going to take too long if they wait for the Stratos, Europa and Seven to be fixed so he contacts Toudou and challenges him. Later on Mr, Munakata walks into the garage to inspect his car, a Lotus Eleven. Nina tries to talk him out of the challenge, Lorna overhears everything and is not too happy about it, she runs off to Lisa and Souichi. Early the next morning Mr. Munakata discovers that his Eleven has been dismantled and gutted up… clearly the work of Ogawa. Souichi speeds out of the éX-Driver compound… apparently they took the engine out of the Eleven and put it in the Seven. Toudou and his gang are waiting at the gasoline production plan (the place of the challenge) he hears the familiar sound of Mr. Munakata's engine but is surprised to see Souichi. Souichi tells Toudou that he'll be the one to fight him. Toudou doubts Mr. Munakata would go back on his word buy takes on Souichi anyway. In the process of the chase Souichi takes care of the three other Gasoline cars… leaving a final showdown between him and Toudou. There evenly matched but when Souichi notices that Toudous front suspension is damaged he backs off, and then leaves to respond to an emergency (a runaway car) Toudou thinks Souichi gave up and tries to chase him but Rei stops him pointing out his suspension. Souichi enters the city ready to stop the runaway school bus when he is joined by Lisa and Lorna, who also have there cars fixed. Toudou and Rei watch from an overpass as the éX-Driver's stop the runaway. Toudou realizes the error of his ways and makes amends with Nina, Rei and Mr. Munakata. Lorna, Lisa and Souichi successfully stop the runaway. As the ending credits roll the show is wrapped up showing the éX-Driver Karting school, and a Kart race between Lisa and Souichi to settle there rivalry (although it does not show who won) The screen pans to the sky, the episode ends and that wraps up the series.
